Head of Platform Engineering – Agentic AI Platform

Role Overview
We are building AAVA, an enterprise-grade Agentic AI platform designed to transform the
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) through intelligent agents, automation, and AIdriven engineering workflows.
As AAVA is deployed inside large global enterprises, each strategic client operates a
dedicated AAVA platform instance that evolves with a strong roadmap tailored to their
engineering environment, developer workflows, and technology ecosystem.
We are seeking a Head of Platform Engineering to lead the end-to-end engineering
function for Strategic client-specific deployment of AAVA. This leader will own the
development, extension, and operational readiness of the client platform, ensuring
rapid innovation for the client while maintaining alignment with the core AAVA product
architecture at Ascendion.
A critical part of the role is ensuring that client-specific innovations are engineered in a
way that can be productized and contributed back into the global AAVA platform
(golden version), strengthening the core product over time.
This role requires a strong product engineering leader from top-tier product companies
with experience building large-scale platforms, developer tools, or AI-driven systems.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership for Client Deployment
• Own the end-to-end engineering delivery for the AAVA platform deployed within
a strategic enterprise client environment.
• Lead development of client-specific capabilities, integrations, and extensions
required to support the client's engineering ecosystem.
• Ensure the platform operates with enterprise-grade scalability, reliability, and
security.
Engineering Roadmap Execution
• Translate the client-specific product roadmap into a clear engineering execution
plan.
• Drive delivery across platform capabilities including:
o Agentic SDLC workflows
o AI-assisted development capabilities
o developer productivity tooling
o enterprise integrations
o platform analytics and observability.
Ensure engineering execution aligns with both client priorities and the broader AAVA
platform roadmap.
Contribution to Core AAVA Product
• Architect client capabilities so they can eventually be productized into the core
AAVA platform.
• Collaborate closely with Ascendion's central AAVA product and platform
engineering teams to:
o identify reusable innovations
o upstream platform capabilities
o maintain architectural consistency.
Prevent long-term client-specific platform forks by ensuring extensions follow core
platform design principles.
Platform Architecture & Engineering Excellence
• Work closely with platform architects and AI engineering teams to maintain a
modular, extensible platform architecture.
• Ensure the client platform adheres to core AAVA architectural standards.
• Drive engineering best practices across:
o distributed systems
o agent orchestration frameworks
o developer platform engineering
o cloud-native architectures.
Engineering Team Leadership
• Build and lead a high-performing platform engineering organization supporting
the client deployment.
• Augment the existing engineering teams with top-tier product engineers, platform
specialists, and AI engineers.
• Establish strong practices for:
o engineering productivity
o DevOps automation
o quality engineering
o platform observability.
Enterprise Integration & Deployment
• Lead engineering of deep integrations between AAVA and the client's enterprise
technology landscape, including:
o developer tools
o CI/CD pipelines
o repositories and code management platforms
o cloud platforms
o enterprise security systems.
Ensure seamless integration with the client's software engineering ecosystem.
Platform Security & Compliance
• Embed secure-by-design engineering practices across the platform.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and governance
requirements.
• Build strong capabilities around:
o identity and access management
o auditability
o model governance
o platform security controls.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
• AAVA Product Management
• AAVA Core Platform Engineering
• Client engineering leadership
• Platform architects
• AI engineering teams
• Customer success and adoption teams
to ensure the platform drives real productivity improvements across the client's
engineering organization.
Qualifications & Experience
• 15+ years of engineering experience, with significant leadership roles in product
engineering organizations.
• Proven track record of leading platform engineering teams at top-tier product
companies.
• Experience building developer platforms, enterprise SaaS products, or AI-driven
engineering tools.
• Experience delivering platforms deployed in large enterprise environments.
Technical Expertise
Strong experience across several of the following areas:
• distributed systems and platform architectures
• cloud-native engineering
• developer platforms and DevOps tooling
• AI-enabled software development tools
• microservices and event-driven architectures
• enterprise security and compliance frameworks.
Experience building AI-enabled engineering platforms or developer productivity tools is
highly desirable.
Leadership Attributes
• Ability to scale high-performing product engineering teams.
• Strong architectural thinking combined with pragmatic delivery focus.
• Experience managing senior engineers and platform architects.
• Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid product + enterprise deployment model.

This role sits at the intersection of product engineering and enterprise platform
deployment.
The Head of Platform Engineering will ensure that AAVA evolves into a world-class agentic
software engineering platform, while simultaneously driving deep adoption and
innovation within one of Ascendion's most strategic enterprise clients.
