Job Description – Plant HR Manager

Position: Plant HR Manager

Location: Gateway Plant (Location to be specified)

Department: Human Resources

Reporting To: Cluster HR / Head HR

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant HR Manager to lead and manage all human resource functions at the manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for driving HR initiatives, ensuring statutory compliance, managing employee and industrial relations, and supporting business objectives through effective people management practices.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration

  • Manage end-to-end HR operations for the plant.
  • Implement and monitor HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Handle recruitment and onboarding activities for plant employees.
  • Coordinate manpower planning in line with production and business requirements.
  • Ensure timely closure of critical vacancies.

Employee Relations & Industrial Relations

  • Foster a positive employee relations environment.
  • Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters effectively.
  • Manage industrial relations activities and maintain harmonious relationships with workers, unions, and employee representatives.
  • Support labour operations and resolve workplace conflicts.

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
  • Coordinate audits and inspections by government authorities.
  • Maintain compliance records and documentation.

Payroll & Compensation

  • Oversee payroll processing and attendance management.
  • Ensure accuracy in employee compensation, benefits, and statutory deductions.
  • Support compensation and benefits administration.

Performance Management

  • Drive the Performance Management System (PMS) across the plant.
  • Support goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.

Learning & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning initiatives.
  • Conduct induction and employee development programs.
  • Support leadership and skill development activities.

Employee Engagement

  • Plan and execute employee engagement programs, welfare initiatives, and organizational events.
  • Promote a positive work culture and employee satisfaction.

HR Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare and present HR MIS reports and analytics.
  • Monitor key HR metrics and provide insights to management.
  • Support decision-making through data-driven HR practices.

Business Partnership

  • Partner with plant leadership to support operational and business objectives.
  • Act as a key HR advisor to plant management.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness and workforce productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.

Experience

  • 8–15 years of experience in Plant HR, Manufacturing HR, or Industrial Relations.
  • Strong exposure to labour laws, statutory compliance, and plant operations.
  • Experience in handling a large workforce and unionized environments is preferred.
