Job Description

Job Title: Zonal Sales Head – FMCG (Food) @ Chennai

HQ: Chennai

Location: Tamil Nadu

Experience: Minimum 15+ Years at Senior level position

CTC: Best in Industry

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Sales Leader groomed to a senior position equivalent to an Zonal Sales Head in the FMCG food industry. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in sales and distribution, along with proven leadership in handling large-scale business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales and distribution execution across assigned territories
  • Deliver and exceed sales targets in high-growth, competitive markets
  • Manage and scale a business volume of ₹150 Crores+
  • Lead and develop teams through effective hiring, training, and delegation
  • Strengthen distribution networks and ensure market penetration
  • Oversee execution of sales plans with high intensity and discipline
  • Coordinate across departments to ensure smooth sales operations
  • Handle on-ground challenges and ensure consistent business growth

Candidate Profile:

  • 15+ years of experience in FMCG (Food Industry mandatory)
  • Career progression from Frontline Sales → Branch Manager / RSM / Sales Head
  • Strong exposure to sales execution and distribution management
  • Experience managing multi-state operations in South India
  • Proven ability to operate in high-pressure, execution-driven environments
  • Experience handling ₹150 Cr+ business turnover

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong people management skills (sourcing, onboarding, training, delegation)
  • Deep understanding of sales processes and distribution systems
  • High level of ownership, discipline, and accountability
  • Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Street-smart, execution-focused, and result-oriented

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have handled 2–3 Southern States (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh) at a granular level
  • Fluency in multiple South Indian languages + Hindi is mandatory
  • Highly punctual, positive, and a strong team player
  • Candidates who can join within 60 days preferred

Education:

  • MBA from a reputed institution
