Location: Bengaluru, India (Sahakarnagar)

Mode: Work from Office, Monday to Friday

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly capable Payroll Specialist to manage and drive end-to-end payroll operations across the organization. The role requires strong expertise in payroll processing, statutory compliance, taxation, labour regulations, reimbursements, HRMS systems, and employee payroll governance.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, process-driven, independent, and capable of handling payroll operations in a dynamic and high-growth environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations

  • Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing with high accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Validate salary inputs, including attendance, leave records, overtime, comp-off, variable payouts, reimbursements, and deductions.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with company policies and applicable statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate full and final settlements, bonus payouts, arrears, and payroll adjustments.

Taxation & Compliance

  • Manage employee income tax declarations, proof submission, scrutiny, and tax computations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Income Tax regulations, labour laws, and payroll-related statutory obligations.
  • Handle PF, ESI, gratuity, PT, LWF, TDS, and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Support audits, assessments, and compliance documentation related to payroll and employee taxation.
  • Stay updated on changes in labour codes, payroll regulations, and taxation policies.

HRMS & Systems

  • Work extensively on payroll and HRMS platforms such as KEKA, Darwinbox, or equivalent systems.
  • Ensure payroll data integrity, employee master accuracy, and system controls.
  • Drive payroll process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiency.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare payroll MIS reports, reconciliation statements, cost analysis reports, and management dashboards.
  • Maintain payroll records, statutory filings, and compliance trackers with strong documentation practices.
  • Support finance, HR, and leadership teams with payroll analytics and reporting requirements.

Employee Support

  • Resolve employee queries related to payroll, taxation, reimbursements, declarations, and statutory deductions.
  • Ensure a high level of confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive employee data.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, Finance, HR, or related discipline.
  • 8–10 years of experience in payroll operations and statutory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Indian payroll practices
  • Income Tax regulations
  • Labour laws and labour codes
  • PF, gratuity, ESI, PT, and related compliance frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with HRMS/payroll systems such as KEKA, Darwinbox, or similar platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and payroll MIS reporting.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong ownership mindset, integrity, and execution discipline.
