This role sits at the intersection of design, craft, and brand storytelling. As our Packaging and Gifting Designer, you will shape how Nicobar is experienced in the most tactile and emotionally resonant way through the joy of unboxing and thoughtful gifting. Your work will translate our ethos into packaging that surprises, delights, and builds long-term brand love.

We're seeking a talented Visual Designer who can work on the entire packaging vertical, including captivating illustrations for gift boxes, Box artworks, packaging, and other visual touchpoints. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, a strong sense of visual storytelling, and the ability to create playful, refined, and brand-aligned artwork.

Where you'll make impact

Design sustainable, elegant, and cost-effective packaging solutions across categories ( home,apparel).

  • Work closely with design, sourcing, and brand teams to bring packaging ideas to life across materials, formats, and production constraints.
  • Create artworks for Gift boxes with drop relevant elements and colors.
  • Elevate unboxing experiences for both ecommerce and retail, keeping in mind storage, handling, and logistics feasibility.
  • Explore new materials, structures, and artisanal collaborations to bring uniqueness to packaging formats.
  • Maintain consistency with Nicobar's brand language, yet evolve visual cues across collections to keep the experience fresh and intentional.
  • Develop dielines, prototypes, and production-ready files in collaboration with vendors and production teams.
  • Build a gifting station playbook that can scale across geographies while staying rooted in Indian craft and sustainability.
  • Develop a consistent visual language across brand, both physical and digital.
  • Innovative methods of packaging design that is sustainable and eco friendly.
  • What you bring along:

    • 12 years of experience in packaging and graphic design, preferably in lifestyle, retail, or consumer brands.
    • A strong portfolio showcasing packaging work or illustration projects with an eye for colour, composition, material, finish, and usability.
    • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop , CDR, and hands-on knowledge of dieline development and 3D packaging visualization.
    • Good understanding of print production techniques, materials (especially sustainable ones), and vendor collaboration. Strong storytelling ability to connect packaging ideas with culture, rituals, and consumer emotions.
    • Comfort with prototyping and testing designs quickly before production.
