Oracle University is looking for a qualified Community Moderator to build engagement with our online forum, connect with our customers, facilitate community discussions, and moderate online conversations within a social context. The member will act as a voice of our brand, and help to build a fun and safe environment that cultivates a strong community around our brand.

- Academic Qualification
- Graduate or Post-graduate preferably in Marketing Communications or Journalism
OR
- Degree in BSc Computer Science, BCA , Advanced Certificate in Computer Training (GNIIT)
- Basic IT aptitude to be able to understand Oracle Products and how they are organized
- 2+ years of experience in the education industry / social media platforms / Community Moderation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (since the role is customer-facing) -- a people person with great customer service skills.
- Excellent social media aptitude: How platforms work, collaborative learning, how to keep customers engaged on the platform
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities
- Encouraging the discussions in the forum by posting relevant questions and answering questions asked by the community members in a timely manner
- Review and take action on items in the Moderation queue.
- Establish boundaries and rules to monitor for unrelated or inappropriate content
- Split threads that need to be represented as separate topics.
- Merge threads that are near duplicates, and need to have their comments contained in a single conversation.
- Move discussions from one location to another within the My Oracle Support Community.
- Soft delete content (mistake posts, unintentional duplicates, etc.)
- Post content related to Oracle Technologies, New features. market trends etc.
- Ensure consistency with the marketing and content team to optimize brand messaging in a consistent manner
- Suggest new ways to attract and engage with our customer base
- Measuring the growth of the community and identifying the gaps that will help in improving
- Come up with suggestions and ideas that will help with the user experience
- Think like a marketer and assist in overall marketing campaign ideas
- Creating concise and error-free content
- Maintain the Moderation Guidelines and ensure they're kept up-to-date
- Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends
