The Oracle Finance Business Analyst partners closely with Finance, Sales, and IT to support, enhance, and optimize Oracle ERP Finance solutions. This role is responsible for finance process analysis, functional solution design, production support, and successful delivery of Oracle Financials enhancements in a global enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Process Analysis & Solution Design
- Analyze endtoend finance business processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Recommend and design finance process enhancements and system solutions leveraging Oracle ERP Financials.
- Translate business requirements into functional designs aligned with accounting, reporting, and compliance objectives.
- Evaluate Oracle tools, reports, and features to determine optimal solutions for finance stakeholders.
- Gather new finance process and reporting requirements, perform feasibility analysis, and provide clear recommendations.
Oracle Financials Production Support
Under the direction of Finance Business Systems leadership, provide ongoing production support for Oracle ERP Finance modules across assigned geographic regions:
- Support and administer Oracle ERP Finance modules, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Provide Customer Master and Pricing support for Finance, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve finance application, data, and process issues to ensure system stability, data integrity, and timely close cycles.
- Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies to the U.S.-based Senior Director Global Business Systems as appropriate.
Enhancements, Projects & Training
- Manage and execute prioritized finance system enhancement and support requests.
- Develop functional design documents, business requirements, and test plans.
- Partner with technical and development teams throughout solution build and deployment.
- Perform regression testing and lead user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Deliver enduser training and documentation to support adoption and compliance.
- Participate in Oracle Financials upgrades, patches, and new functionality implementations.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Oracle training programs to increase finance system awareness and effectiveness across regions.
Experience & Technical Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years of Oracle ERP application experience, with a strong focus on Oracle Financials.
- Deep experience supporting and configuring Oracle Finance modules including GL, AP, and AR.
- Completion of at least two full Oracle ERP implementations from initiation through golive as a Business Analyst or Functional Lead.
- 5+ years of experience providing leadlevel application support.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and maintaining functional, configuration, and implementation documentation.
- Proficient in Oracle AIM methodology.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle ERP Finance application architecture and underlying database structures.
- Handson experience with Oracle development and database tools including:
- PL/SQL
- SQL*Plus
- Oracle Forms and Reports
- Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries for finance data analysis and validation.
- Experience with Oracle Discoverer and BI/reporting tools.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and application support methodologies.
