Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have

Strong understanding of Oracle database technologies, utilities, and tools

Excellent Communication & Customer handling

Sound knowledge on DB migration for Wintel Servers.

Good-to-Have

A sound knowledge of performance tuning through server, database, and application tiers

Demonstrate proficiency using Oracle RMAN to perform database recoveries and database clones across LPARs

Ability to analyze incidents, apply sound judgment and teamwork to solve complex problems

Proficient in reading and writing shell scripts to support task automation.

Expectations from the Role :

1. Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of software development life cycle
2. Other preferred skills

SQL DB/Informatica/Couchbase/MySQL/Siebel

3. New installations of Oracle versions as per the project requirement, preparing build documentation for new servers.

4.Preparing KT for new devices, mitigating any potential risks as a project work and getting sign-off to support.

5. Backup / Recovery and Performance Tuning: Has designed and implemented various backup and recovery strategies on heterogeneous environments. Can recover the database with no or minimal data loss. Can independently tune databases to extract best performance including memory, OS and SQL tuning. Can also groom peers. Will be able to analyze the statistics report and rectify the bottlenecks efficiently with a minimum downtime.

6.Implement High Availability options like Server Cluster with support team or Oracle Clusters (RAC).

7. Implement quarterly released CPU/PSU/SPU patches for Standalone/HA databases and co-ordinate with Oracle for any bugfixes
