Responsibilities
Assess children's developmental, sensory, motor, and functional abilities through standardized tests, clinical observation, and parent consultation.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to each child's needs, focusing on improving independence in daily living, play, learning, and social participation.
Provide interventions in areas such as fine motor skills, handwriting, sensory integration, self-care, attention, and play-based activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (speech therapists, psychologists, special educators, parents, teachers) to ensure holistic support.
Educate and guide parents/caregivers with home programs and strategies to generalize therapy goals in daily routines.
Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, therapy plans, progress notes, and reports.
Monitor and track child progress, adjusting therapy approaches as needed.
Participate in case discussions, parent meetings, and professional development activities.
Stay updated with the latest practices, research, and therapeutic tools in pediatric occupational therapy.
Contribute to awareness programs, workshops, and training sessions for parents and educators.
Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT) from a recognized institution.
Licensure/Certification: Registered with the All India Occupational Therapists Association (AIOTA) / relevant state council (if applicable).
