Shiloah Therapy and Learning Centre was started with a purpose of improving the lives of children with special needs by delivering effective evidence based interventions by qualified therapists.
Our therapy centre, based in Koramangala, Bengaluru, serves children and young people with a diverse range of mild to severe developmental needs, including autism, physical, visual and/or hearing disabilities, and learning disabilities.
Our mission is to decrease the challenges faced and enhance the lives of individuals with ASD and children with various challenges and their families by providing one-to-one instruction, education, training, guidance, and resources.
Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT) with 2+ years of relevant work experience
Responsibilities:
- Primary work would be conducting one-on-one occupational therapy sessions for children
- Conduct comprehensive informal assessments to assess clients physical, cognitive, and sensory
abilities and needs;
- Develop individualised care plans based on the assessment findings and in consultation with
the child's parents;
- Implement sensory integration therapy, motor skills development and cognitive-behavioural
techniques etc;
- Collaborate with other interdisciplinary team members, such as speech therapists, behaviour therapists, and special educators, to ensure a holistic approach for progress;
- Provide caregiver consultation as needed and meet with parents/caregivers for parent-therapist meetings;
- Design and maintain accurate and detailed records of children's progress, data evaluations, and
treatment plans;
- Stay current with the latest research and trends in occupational therapy and apply this knowledge to improve client outcomes.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and staff meetings.
- Be willing to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities, including personal and professional development and attend workshops on topics related to inclusion and education for students with special needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised university;
- 2+ years of work experience, preferably in a multi-disciplinary setting;
- Compassion and a commitment to improving the quality of life of individuals with special needs;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team;
- Can adapt accordingly to meet the needs of individual students;
- Able to work on-site 5.5 days a week;
