Job Description: A New Business Incubation Specialist is responsible for identifying, nurturing, and accelerating innovative business ideas into viable ventures. They act as a bridge between creativity and execution, ensuring that new concepts are strategically aligned with organizational goals while being tested, refined, and scaled for market success.
1. Strategy & Portfolio Development
- Identify new business opportunities aligned with MPi's strengths and market trends (Payments, Digital Identity, Embedded Finance, GovTech, AI/ML applications, Smart Cards, IoT, etc.).
- Build a structured process for idea discovery, feasibility assessment, prototype design, and business case development.
- Maintain a Future-Ready Business Portfolio Roadmap with quarterly updates.
2. Incubation Program Creation
- Set up the incubation framework bringing together BE/Technical graduates and MBAs to work on new business ideas.
- Design workflows for concept generation, technology validation, PoC development, and go-to-market exploration.
- Build partnerships with academia, startups, accelerators, and innovation labs.
3. New Business Experimentation & Validation
- Lead teams through validation cycles: Market research, prototype development, user testing, and pilot launches.
- Run multiple incubation cohorts across the year, encouraging exploration of diverse and high-potential business themes.
- Facilitate an environment where teams can independently identify, assess, and choose opportunity areas aligned to MPi's strategic vision.
- Guide teams through structured validation cycles including market research, problem discovery, prototype development, user testing, and pilot launches.
- Ensure each cohort follows a rigorous experimentation framework that supports creativity, innovation, and data-driven decision making.
4. Governance & Review Mechanisms
- Set evaluation metrics, success criteria, and decision gates (Go/No-Go).
- Present new business cases to leadership for funding or integration into MPi's business units.
- Maintain dashboards covering project progress, value creation, risks, and financial projections.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Production, Technology, Sales, Pre-Sales, Strategy, Finance, and Operations teams to integrate validated ideas.
- Ensure incubation outputs can seamlessly transition into mainstream execution teams.
6. External Ecosystem Engagement
- Collaborate with universities, think tanks, and research labs to bring fresh ideas and technologies.
- Build relationships with fintech/startup ecosystems to scout partnership and investment opportunities.
- Represent MPi at innovation events, hackathons, and technology forums.
