About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedNetwork Security Engineer (L1)with 6 months to 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting network security infrastructure, particularly firewalls. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge ofPalo Alto firewalls, with added advantage for experience inFortiGateandCisco firewalls.
Key Roles Responsibilities:
- Monitor, manage, and support firewall security infrastructure (primarily Palo Alto, FortiGate, and Cisco firewalls).
- Respond to network security alerts and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform routine firewall rule changes, configuration updates, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and internal teams to ensure the security posture of the organization is maintained.
- Assist in maintaining security documentation, including change records and network diagrams.
- Work with ticketing systems to resolve issues and complete tasks as per defined SLAs.
- Participate in scheduled on-call support and shift rotations, if applicable.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.E / B. Tech degree in computer science, information technology, or master s degree preferred.
- 6 months to 3 years of experience in network security or related roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practical knowledge and hands-on experience withPalo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Good to have knowledge ofFortiGateandCisco firewalls.
- Basic understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Familiarity with security incident response and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician (PCCET) or PCNSA
- Fortinet NSE 1/2/3 or above
- Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate or CCNA Security
