Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) team in Pune. The role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management of large-scale IP/MPLS networks while ensuring high availability and SLA adherence. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in routing, switching, and service provider technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network elements, services, and applications using NSP/NMS
- Proactively identify, analyze, and respond to network alarms, alerts, and incidents
- Perform first-level troubleshooting for network issues related to:
- IP/MPLS
- BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
- Segment Routing (SR)
- EVPN
- Log, track, and manage incidents in accordance with defined SLA/OLA processes
- Escalate issues to CTA, TAC, vendors, or field teams as per escalation matrix
- Coordinate with vendors and TAC teams for fault isolation and resolution
- Perform basic checks, validation, and continuous health monitoring of the network
- Execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to change management processes
- Communicate incident status and updates to stakeholders via calls, emails, and messaging tools
- Participate in RCA, RFO, and post-incident analysis
- Support planned maintenance activities, including off-hours or shift-based work, as required
Technical Skills Required
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing & switching
- Hands-on experience with:
- BGP, OSPF, IS-IS
- MPLS, Segment Routing
- EVPN
- Experience with NMS/NSP tools (e.g., Cramer or similar platforms)
- Working knowledge of ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Basic understanding of Optical/DWDM technologies (added advantage)
- Exposure to Nokia platforms is a plus
