About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with expertise in switching, routing, BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP stack, Python scripting, and MPLS technologies to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure projects for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Cisco, Arista, and Aruba networking technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve high-severity issues efficiently. You will work closely with project management and design teams to translate business requirements into scalable and reliable network solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4+ years of extensive experience in network engineering, demonstrating proficiency in LAN/WAN wireless enterprise networks, TCP/IP fundamentals, and routing and switching protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, and VTP. Certifications such as CCNP, SDWAN certification, or equivalent are highly desirable. Strong scripting skills in Python, along with experience using tools like ServiceNOW, HP Openview, NNMi, Splunk, and Rally, are essential. Candidates should have excellent documentation skills, with the ability to create detailed network diagrams and procedures using tools like Visio. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences is crucial. Responsibilities
- Design and build network infrastructure projects and technology initiatives based on customer or business requirements.
- Perform all phases of network engineering, including requirements analysis, network design, and implementation.
- Lead network migrations, remediations, and integrations to ensure seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
- Participate in reviewing and approving proposed network designs and changes, ensuring alignment with network standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with Project Management and Design Teams to translate initial scope into actionable engineering tasks.
- Review network designs, providing feedback to optimize performance and adherence to standards.
- Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment, developing effective solutions promptly.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) and assist in decision-making regarding the acquisition of new or existing technologies for the network environment.
- Create reusable design templates and promote innovation to increase team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Explore and evaluate emerging technologies to incorporate into current network architectures.
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for all assigned tasks, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables.
- Define, document, and adhere to technical and operational standards to maintain network integrity.
- Document solutions, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies comprehensively.
- Create and maintain detailed network diagrams and Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation.
- Adopt a forward-thinking approach and remain agile in integrating new technologies to meet evolving business needs.
- Perform peer reviews of deployment plans to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Provide after-hours support for system installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting as required.
- Act as a Level 3 escalation point and provide on-call support for high-severity network issues.
