About the Team and the Role:
The Manufacturing Engineering - Assembly team at Ather is responsible for managing the end-to-end scope of manufacturing projects, for NPDs & existing products. This team ensures process planning, design & sustenance of existing as well as new products on the production line.
This role is for a Module Lead-Manufacturing Engineering Process who will serve as the single point of contact for operations and ME internal team, overseeing project timelines, capacity governance, and team bandwidth to ensure successful adherence of process sustenance & improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Support Digital Manufacturing Engineering Strategy: You will support innovative digital manufacturing technologies implementation at Ather, supported by a vast product suite of any solution provider.
- Architect Virtual Commissioning (VC): You will drive virtual and physical build-and-validation of processes to reduce product development and implementation lead time.
- Control Layer Innovation: You will serve as the PLC Coding Expert, developing advanced control automation and implementing Virtual PLC (Soft-PLC) systems to decouple logic from hardware.
- Digital Twin Development: You will create high-fidelity Digital Twins (Process & Product) using Tecnomatix and ensure a seamless Digital Thread from design to the shop floor.
- End-to-End MES Implementation: You will lead MES functional design and technical execution, integrating it with PLM (Teamcenter) and ERP systems.
- IIoT & Data Orchestration: You will design data pipelines using MQTT and OPC UA to move data from the sensor layer to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) via Siemens Industrial Edge.
- AI/ML Vision Systems: You will deploy AI/ML-based vision systems for real-time quality inspection and digital Poka-Yoke to minimize operator error
- System Integration Mastery: You will act as the Integration Expert, building API-driven integrations and manufacturing data models for shop-floor analytics.
Experience and Qualifications:
- BE in Mechanical / Production/Electronics/Computer Science/Mechatronics
- 5-10 yrs in Design /Manufacturing Environment.
Must Have Competenices:
- Simulation & Digital Twin: Expertise in Tecnomatix Process Simulate, Plant Simulation, Vismockup, and IPS Harness Simulation.
- PLC & Control Systems: Deep expertise in PLC coding (Structured Text/Ladder), Virtual PLC technology, and Control Automation.
- Connectivity & Protocols: Hands-on experience with MQTT, OPC UA, Siemens Industrial Edge, and IoT/SCADA data connectivity.
- Programming & Software: Technical know-how in Python, Java, or C++; and familiarity with SQL, React.js, or C# for dashboarding and logic.
- PLM & MES Integration: Working knowledge of Teamcenter (MPP), MES functional design, and manufacturing data modeling.
- Cloud & Data Pipelines: Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and orchestrating data for Power BI visualization.
- AI & Advanced Vision: Proficiency in deploying AL/ML-based Vision systems for industrial defect detection.
Good to have Competencies:
- DevOps for OT: Experience using Git or version control for PLC code and configuration management.
- Cybersecurity for OT: Understanding of IEC 62443 or methods to secure industrial networks during digital transformation.
- Manufacturing Foundations: Proficiency in DFA/DFM, DES (Discrete Event Simulation), and MBOM/EBOM management.
