Job Description

The Senior Associate - Middle Office Pricing & Valuation is responsible for daily price validation, exception management, and pricing-related investigations across client portfolios. The role supports accurate valuation of securities, timely resolution of pricing breaks, and effective handling of pricing queries raised by internal teams and clients.

This position requires strong attention to detail, product knowledge, and the ability to work within a highcontrol, deadlinedriven environment, partnering closely with Pricing SMEs, Accounting, Performance, and Data teams.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Pricing & Validation

  • Perform daily price validation checks across asset classes including fixed income, derivatives, bank loans, structured products, and alternatives.
  • Review prices received from primary and secondary vendors and identify stale, missing, or outoftolerance prices.
  • Apply defined pricing hierarchies, tolerance rules, and exception thresholds in line with client and internal guidelines.

Pricing Exceptions & Investigation

  • Investigate pricing exceptions by:
    • Comparing vendor prices, internal models, and market data
    • Reviewing security characteristics, corporate actions, and market events
  • Document investigation outcomes clearly, including rationale for price acceptance, override, or escalation.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved pricing issues to Officers / Pricing SMEs with supporting analysis.

Query Handling & Stakeholder Support

  • Handle firstlevel pricing queries from Accounting, Performance, Reconciliation, and Client Service teams.
  • Provide supporting data and explanations for pricingdriven PnL, NAV, or performance impacts.
  • Support responses to client or auditor queries related to valuation and price movements.

Controls & Governance

  • Execute assigned pricing control checks and endofday validations.
  • Ensure pricing actions are completed within SLA timelines and documented in accordance with control standards.
  • Support ICAMS documentation, audit requests, and evidence gathering for pricingrelated issues.
  • Adhere strictly to pricing policies, valuation guidelines, and escalation protocols.

Data Quality & Process Support

  • Identify recurring pricing issues, data gaps, or vendor challenges and flag trends to senior team members.
  • Support process improvements aimed at reducing manual interventions and repeat exceptions.
  • Participate in testing or rollout of pricing enhancements, new security types, or vendor changes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in Pricing, Valuation, Accounting, or Middle Office Operations.
  • Working knowledge of financial instruments (fixed income, derivatives, structured products exposure to bank loans or alternatives preferred).
  • Familiarity with pricing hierarchies, tolerance checks, and valuation concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and documentation discipline.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highvolume, timesensitive environment.
