Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), DRG, surgery coding, and denials management. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate coding and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate codes for inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), and surgery services using ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for coding audits and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed.
- Manage and resolve coding-related denials and rejections by communicating with payers and internal teams.
- Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines, regulations, and reimbursement policies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field.
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, CCA, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in coding for inpatient, outpatient, DRG, and surgical procedures.
- Experience in handling coding denials and appeals processes.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills to interact with healthcare professionals and insurance companies.
