Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position for a Surgery Coding Team Lead, based in Chennai. The Surgery Coding Team Lead will oversee and guide a team of medical coders to ensure accuracy and compliance in surgical coding practices. Day-to-day responsibilities involve reviewing medical records, assigning correct codes based on procedure details, addressing discrepancies, conducting team training sessions, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize coding processes. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to maintain high standards of coding accuracy and support team performance improvement.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and HCPCS
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to guide and mentor staff
  • Attention to detail and thorough knowledge of surgical procedures and associated codes
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in the use of medical coding and billing tools/software
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
