Description
We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder with 1-5 years of experience in IPDRG coding to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding inpatient cases and ensuring compliance with coding regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding practices.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of medical procedures and diagnoses.
- Assign appropriate codes from ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS for inpatient cases following IPDRG guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with coding regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing regulations, including changes in coding practices and policies.
- Perform regular audits of coded data for accuracy and completeness, and report findings to management.
- Participate in training and educational sessions to enhance coding skills and knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare, medical coding, or related field preferred.
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, CCA, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret clinical documentation.
