We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder with expertise in IPDRG to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding inpatient medical records and ensuring compliance with coding standards.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding.
- Assign appropriate medical codes for inpatient services using IPDRG guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Prepare and submit coded data for reimbursement and reporting purposes.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance activities to ensure coding accuracy.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in IPDRG.
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCA, CCS) is preferred.
