We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately coding medical diagnoses and procedures in compliance with industry regulations. This role requires a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze patient records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) based on the documentation provided.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous or incomplete documentation.
- Maintain coding accuracy and adhere to compliance regulations and standards.
- Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and practices.
- Generate reports on coding activities and participate in audits as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals.
