We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our healthcare team in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating medical records into standardized codes to ensure proper billing and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accuracy and completeness of coding information.
- Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures based on medical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in coding.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
- Stay updated with changes in coding standards and regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in medical coding or a related field.
- Candidate should have experience in Inpatient (IPDRG) Medical Coding
- Outpatient (OPD) Medical Coding
- Emergency Department (ED) Coding
- Surgical / CPT Coding
- Evaluation & Management (E&M) Coding
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is preferred.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
