Role Overview:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Turnkey Projects Design Team.
The role involves equipment & layout design, 3D modelling, and detailing of process equipment and structural systems used in bulk material handling and process plants.
Responsibilities:
- Develop 2D detail drawings, 3D models, and layouts for process and bulk-handling systems such as belt/chain/screw conveyors, bucket elevators, silos, hoppers, bins, transfer towers, and steel structures.
- Perform interference checks, layout coordination, and equipment integration in plant assemblies.
- Generate fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks.
- Coordinate with project, procurement, and fabrication teams to ensure design practicality and manufacturability.
- Support the preparation of BOQs, weight estimates, and drawing/document control.
- Participate in design reviews and assist during FAT and commissioning phases.
- Visit project sites to take physical measurements, verify fitments, and collect as-built data for design validation or modifications
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of bulk material handling concepts and equipment selection principles.
- Hands-on experience in SolidWorks (3D parametric modelling) and AutoCAD (2D detailing).
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards, tolerances, and fabrication techniques.
- Exposure to structural design and detailing (platforms, supports, towers, etc.).
- Ability to convert conceptual layouts or sketches into production-ready drawings.
Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- 3-5 years of 3D modeling experience in SolidWorks
- Strong knowledge in Bulk material handling systems & process plant equipment
