We offer Google SERP, Google Hotels, general web scraping, and browser automation APIs. We move fast, we're product-driven, and we care deeply about our developer community. We're looking for a sharp, technically curious marketer to own the entire growth loop from awareness to activation to retention, with a product-led mindset.
Role Description
As Scrapingdog's first dedicated Product-Led Marketing Manager, you will own the funnel from the moment a developer discovers us to the moment they become a paying customer and beyond. You will work directly with the founder, with significant ownership and freedom to experiment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Activation & Conversion
- Own the free trial funnel drive users from signup to their first successful API call
- Design and run lifecycle email campaigns to convert free users to paid plans
- Identify and fix drop-off points in the onboarding flow using product data
Developer Community & Brand
- Own Scrapingdog's LinkedIn presence write regular posts on new features, use cases, tutorials, and customer wins in a credible, founder-adjacent voice
- Own Scrapingdog's X (Twitter) presence post code snippets, quick tips, API updates, and engage in scraping/SEO/data threads to drive organic visibility
- Build relationships with developer influencers, indie hackers, and technical creators on LinkedIn and X for organic amplification
- Engage in communities where scrapers hang out Reddit, Hacker News, Discord, dev forums
- Manage presence on Product Hunt, G2, Capterra, and similar platforms
Growth Analytics
- Track and report on activation rate, trial-to-paid conversion, and churn signals
- Run A/B experiments on landing pages, onboarding flows, and pricing CTAs
- Build dashboards and translate data into clear growth hypotheses
Partnerships & Distribution
- Identify co-marketing and integration partnership opportunities
- Reach out to data platforms, aggregators, and complementary tools for distribution
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must Have
- 24 years of experience in B2D (business-to-developer) or SaaS marketing
- Comfortable reading and writing basic code (Python, JS, or similar) you don't need to be an engineer, but you must be able to evaluate a curl command and understand API docs
- Strong written communication you can write a tutorial that developers actually want to read
- Experience with lifecycle/email marketing tools (e.g. Customer.io, Mailchimp, Drip)
- Data-driven: you track what you test and you know what a conversion funnel looks like
- Proven track record of growing or managing a brand presence on LinkedIn and X, ideally in a developer tools or B2D context
- Ability to write short-form technical content threads, carousels, tips that resonates with a developer audience without sounding corporate
Nice to Have
- Prior experience at a scraping, data, or infrastructure API company
- Hands-on SEO experience with keyword research, on-page optimization, and content audits
- Familiarity with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Mixpanel, or Amplitude
- Experience running developer-focused community campaigns or ambassador programs
