The Salesforce Commerce Cloud Engineering Manager leads a team of talented engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications on the Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) platform. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people management, ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and innovative e-commerce solutions. The manager will foster a collaborative, high-performance culture, drive technical excellence, and align team objectives with broader organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a cross-functional team of SFCC engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable back-end solutions for SFCC, ensuring performance, reliability, and code quality.
  • Manage integration of SFCC with third-party services and APIs using RESTful web services, OCAPI, and custom cartridges.
  • Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and resources, ensuring alignment with business objectives and global technology leadership.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for technical staff.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, collaborating with HR and other departments as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes, code reviews, testing, and deployment practices.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in web development and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Provide constructive feedback, support employee development, and lead change initiatives within the team.
  • Agile and Scrum Expertise
  • Champion Agile and Scrum best practices within the engineering team, ensuring iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Track and report on team velocity, sprint progress, and delivery timelines.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and adaptability in line with Agile principles.
  • Collaboration with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Stakeholders
  • Work closely with product owners, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, set priorities, and align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and shared understanding.
  • Participate in roadmap planning, requirement gathering, and solution design discussions.
  • Ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into product development cycles.
  • Software Testing and Quality Assurance
  • Oversee the implementation of robust software testing and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ensure the team follows best practices in unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing.
  • Collaborate with QA analysts to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and release readiness.
  • Drive a culture of quality, emphasizing defect prevention, early detection, and continuous improvement in testing processes.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Proficiency in SFCC architecture, back-end systems, and data models.
  • Experience implementing customizations for complex business domains using ISML, JavaScript, and OCAPI.
  • Familiarity with web services and API integration (RESTful, OCAPI, custom cartridges).
  • Strong knowledge of code versioning and deployment tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience managing multifunctional teams and driving team performance.
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud Developer certification is a plus.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud development (SFRA, Pipelines, Controllers, Demandware Script, etc.).
  • 5+ years in a technology management role, with a focus on leading development teams.

  • The base salary range advertised represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The base pay is only one aspect of the Total Rewards Package that will be offered to the successful candidate.
