Responsibilities
Position overview:
Overseeing all activities related to inventory, warehousing, and distribution within the organization.
Ensures that materials, equipment, and supplies are received, stored, and issued efficiently and accurately.
Maintains optimal stock levels, coordinates with suppliers and internal departments, and ensures that store operations comply with safety and organizational standards.
Knowledge of ERP system.
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
Maintains material usage control by following first in and first out (FIFO).
Monitor stock levels and initiate procurement requests to avoid shortages or overstocking in coordination with FD/ AD teams on fortnightly/ monthly basis.
Maintain reference standard samples with accurate reconciliation
Conduct regular and periodic stock audits, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations.
Implement effective inventory control systems and procedures.
Makes available all raw materials and packaging materials for Formulation/ Analytical Development activities including bio-batches with necessary testing, retesting records.
Coordinate with manufacturing plants to ensure appropriate stock transfers and requests as required
Warehouse And Storage Operations
Organize and supervise the storage layout for efficient space utilization.
Ensure proper handling, labelling, and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
Oversee loading/unloading activities and ensure all materials are stored safely.
Maintain appropriate statutory compliances and reconciliations with respect to local FDA, Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Pollution Control Board (PCB), State Excise, etc
Purchase And Supplier Co-ordination
Coordinate with procurement teams regarding material requirements.
Follow up with vendors on order deliveries and resolve discrepancies in quantity or quality.
Assist in evaluating supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality, and compliance.
Documentation And Reporting
Maintain updated records of receipts, issues, and stock balance.
Prepare regular inventory reports for management.
Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and audit requirements.
Preparation of Purchase Requisition/Purchase Order/Goods Received Notes (GRN's).
Team Leadership
Supervise and train store staff on procedures, safety, and operational efficiency.
Assign tasks and ensure performance standards are met.
Conduct regular briefings and enforce discipline in the store team.
Safety And Compliance
Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free warehouse environment
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Oversee proper disposal of obsolete or damaged stock.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Arts, Science, Commerce or Management.
Proven experience as a Stores Manager, Warehouse Manager, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP, SAP).
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Understanding of safety regulations and warehouse management best practices.
