Role Overview
Serve as the authoritative translation layer between the client's commercial organization (Category Managers, RGM Directors, Trade Marketing) and the data science and engineering teams. Ensure that models and analytical output reflect actual business decision processes and that findings are actionable within the client's operational context. This role is the commercial conscience of the engagement — you define what good looks like from an RGM perspective.
The RGM SME is expected to lead client-facing workshops, challenge modelling assumptions from a commercial angle, and drive adoption of analytical tools across markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business requirement gathering and translate commercial questions into analytical briefs for data science teams
- Own the RGM framework design — pricing architecture, trade promotion guardrails, pack-price strategy — in collaboration with client stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops with senior commercial leaders to validate model assumptions and outputs
- Review elasticity and uplift model outputs for commercial sensibility and flag anomalies
- Drive adoption of pricing and promotion tools across category and trade teams
- Serve as the go-to RGM knowledge resource for internal delivery teams across markets
- Contribute to the development of the Augmented Value Cockpit by defining KPI hierarchies and dashboard logic
Qualifications — Required
- Bachelor's or master's in business, Economics, Marketing, or related field
- 7–10 years as an RGM Analyst, Category Analyst, Trade Marketing Manager, or equivalent in CPG or Retail
- Deep, hands-on understanding of Revenue Growth Management: pricing strategy, trade promotion management, pack-price architecture, and category management
- Experience analyzing sell-out/POS data (Nielsen, IRI/Circana, or direct retailer feeds) and translating insights into commercial recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders and influence commercial decision-making
- Proficient in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Looker) and comfortable with SQL for ad hoc analysis
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
Qualifications — Preferred
- Deep CPG industry background, ideally across multiple categories (FMCG, beverages, personal care, or similar)
- Multi-market or multi-geography experience, especially in emerging or high-complexity retail environments
- Exposure to revenue management tooling platforms (e.g. Pricing Solutions, Blue Yonder, or custom RGM tools)
- Familiarity with data science outputs — ability to read and critique elasticity model outputs, scenario simulations, and lift tables
