Key Responsibilities
- Product design, plan, and execute well-controlled laboratory experiments with high scientific rigor and attention to detail.
- Lead, mentor, and guide cross-functional teams across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and engineering.
- Drive product development activities to ensure the right quality parameters, with robust, scalable, and compliant processes.
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot technical and product development -related challenges using critical and creative thinking.
- Develop, review, and maintain SOPs for production of reagents, intermediates, and starting materials.
- Lead technology transfer from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale with the help of the process development team.
- Perform data analysis and develop new or improved experimental protocols.
- Focus on efficiency, cost, and sustainability.
- Present technical findings and project updates to teams and leadership.
- Maintain laboratory standards, including cleanliness, 5S practices, safety compliance, and adherence to Godrej Values.
- Continuously identify and propose process improvements across R&D and manufacturing interfaces.
Education
- PhD with 5+ years of hands-on laboratory experience in oleochemical chemistry and/or complex multi-step organic synthesis. (experience range may vary by level).
Key Skills
- Proven experience developing chemistries related to:
- Oleochemicals
- Surfactants
- Esterification
- Sulfonation
- Ethoxylation
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices.
- Technical exposure to green and sustainable chemistry principles.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques including HPLC, MS, IR, NMR, and wet chemistry methods (AV, IV, SAP value optimization).
