Key Responsibilities:
IT Operations Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for all IT needs of the K J Somaiya Institute of Management.
- Oversee and manage all IT infrastructure (networks, servers, Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, etc.) within the School.
- Ensure uptime and performance of ICT systems, including AV systems in all the smart classrooms, Board/meeting rooms and seminar halls.
- Manage endpoint devices (desktops, laptops, printers, etc.) and coordinate AMC/repairs.
Coordination with Central IT
- Act as the liaison between the School and Central IT for rollouts, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with central IT policies (security, backup, software licensing, procurement).
- Assist in implementing central IT initiatives at the school level (ERP, LMS, digital assessment tools, etc.).
Academic Administrative Support
- Support faculty, students, and staff in using institutional software (ERP, LMS, attendance systems, etc.).
- Coordinate with academic and administrative departments for tech enablement (e.g., exam automation, hybrid classrooms, digital resource access).
- Train faculty and staff on IT tools, new systems, and digital best practices.
- Managing forecasting the procurement renewal of various software licenses (both academic administrative)
Project Management Digital Transformation
- Identify technology needs unique to the School and propose relevant solutions.
- Implement and manage IT projects such as lab upgrades, software deployments, smart classrooms, and digital signage.
- Monitor the performance and effectiveness of digital tools used in teaching and administration.
Vendor Asset Management
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement, installation, and maintenance of IT assets.
- Maintain an up-to-date IT asset inventory for the School.
- Ensure compliance with IT asset lifecycle and disposal policies.
User Experience Helpdesk Oversight
- Handle IT helpdesk requests originating from the School and ensure timely resolution.
- Ensure quality and timely support to students, faculty, and administrative staff.
- Regularly gather feedback to improve IT services at the School.
Qualifications Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master's degree or IT certifications (CCNA, ITIL, PMP, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
- 58 years of IT experience with at least 23 years in an educational institution or similar setup.
- Experience managing a small IT team and handling end-to-end IT operations.
Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and infrastructure management skills.
- Good understanding of educational software platforms and tools.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Experience with ERP, LMS, database management, and cybersecurity basics.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple stakeholders.
