Industrial Relations & Legal Compliance

  • Liaise with labor department, factory inspectorate, PF/ESI authorities, and other statutory bodies.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable labor laws including the Factories Act, CLRA, EPF Act, Minimum Wages Act, etc.
  • Conduct monthly labor management meetings and maintain all statutory records and registers.
  • Prepare legal documentation, notices, responses, and support inspections or audits.
  • Identify emerging IR risks and implement preventive measures during plant scale-up or operational changes.

Contractor Workforce Governance

  • Ensure full compliance of contract labor management as per CLRA and statutory norms.
  • Monitor contractor adherence to PF, ESI, wages, working hours, and documentation standards.
  • Drive recruitment, attendance control, and efficient deployment of contract workforce.
  • Conduct audits of contractors/vendors to ensure governance and legal compliance.
  • Manage manpower documentation for ongoing operations and expansion projects.

Plant Statutory & Safety Compliance

  • Oversee statutory requirements related to boiler, metrology, safety, environment, and PCB regulations.
  • Ensure timely inspections, certifications, approvals, renewals, and statutory filings.
  • Maintain all compliance statutory registers, licenses, renewals, and filings and documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory visits and handle inspections, notices, and compliance audits.
  • Coordinate welfare and safety activities in partnership with the plant safety team
  • Welfare & Safety: Oversee canteen, safety, and employee welfare activities in coordination with the safety team.
  • Oversee statutory compliance for new plant expansion or equipment installation.

Disciplinary & Legal Matters

  • Draft and manage all legal documents, notices, and responses related to labor or statutory authorities.
  • Handle grievances, misconduct cases, and disciplinary procedures legally.
  • Conduct domestic enquiries and disciplinary actions with strict adherence to labor laws.
  • Maintain documentation for legal defense in inspections or disputes.
  • Completing initial reporting, accident investigations, communication work restrictions, claim adjuster correspondence, tracking and claim review analysis for settlement
  • Draft charge sheets, warning letters, suspension and termination documentation.
  • Represent the company in conciliation or labor proceedings if required.

Risk Management & Advisory

  • Advise management on statutory risks and gaps in compliance.
  • Implement preventive measures to avoid legal violations or penalties.
  • Keep management updated on changes in labor laws, environmental regulations, and plant statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance during plant expansion, new shifts, or additional manpower deployment.
  • Monitor overtime, working hours, wage structures, and safety compliance.
  • Advise management on IR risks during rapid operational growth.

HR Operations

  • Manage end-to-end HR operations at the plant, ensuring alignment with production priorities.
  • Drive manpower planning and workforce budgeting in line with production forecasts.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for plant workforce (permanent and contractual).
  • Manage employee lifecycle processes including confirmation, transfers, promotions, and separations.
  • Drive performance management implementation for plant employees.
  • Responsible for payroll inputs, attendance systems, shift management, and statutory deductions.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives and foster positive shop-floor culture.
  • Implement training and development programs focused on skill enhancement and compliance.
  • Ensure effective employee communication, engagement, and grievance handling.
  • Support succession planning and capability building for critical plant roles.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and safety teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain plant HR dashboards (attrition, absenteeism, productivity, compliance status).
