Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to join our
client-facing Sustainability Consulting team as a Business Development Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for growing our sustainability advisory portfolio, building strong client relationships, and driving new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in
consulting, sales, or business development within the sustainability or environmental services sector, and possess excellent
communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and target potential clients in need of sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) consulting services.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through networking, meetings, and presentations.
- Collaborate with consulting teams to design tailored sustainability solutions for corporate, institutional, and real estate clients.
- Respond to RFPs and support proposal development, including scoping, budgeting, and deliverable planning.
- Lead initial consultations to assess client needs and introduce relevant services and solutions.
- Track market trends, client feedback, and competitor offerings to inform business development strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress using CRM systems.
- Support marketing efforts by contributing to thought leadership, case studies, and client presentations.
- Meet and exceed business development targets for revenue, new clients, and engagement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (preferred fields: Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or related).
- 8-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management.
- Strong client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in developing new business and achieving sales targets.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, CDP, SBTi, GRESB, LEED), and market drivers.
- Proficiency MS Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Professional certifications (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, PMP) are a plus.
