Established in 2010, Youth Organization in Defence of Animals (YODA) is a registered charity based in Mumbai, dedicated to fostering better human-animal co-existence. YODA advocates for a cruelty-free environment through medical care for abandoned and injured animals, behavioral rehabilitation, and sheltering homeless or senior animals. The organization also works on vaccination and sterilization programs to manage stray animal populations and combat diseases like rabies. YODA is committed to education and raising awareness to promote animal welfare.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Manager at the Animal Welfare Centre, located in Gurgaon. The Manager will oversee daily operations of the welfare center, ensure proper animal care, and manage programs such as vaccination, sterilization, and rehabilitation. Responsibilities include coordinating with staff and volunteers, developing and implementing strategies to improve animal welfare services, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. The Manager will also engage with stakeholders, including donors, community members, and organizations, to promote YODA's mission and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Management and leadership skills, including experience in staff supervision and operational planning
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capability to manage multiple programs and priorities effectively
  • Passionate about Animal Welfare
  • Ability to manage people and stakeholders well - good temperament
  • Good to have - Knowledge of animal welfare practices, including medical care, behavioral rehabilitation, and shelter management - if not, they will be trained
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, donors, and community members
  • Ability to handle budget management and administrative tasks
  • Empathy, passion for animal welfare, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Welfare, Management, or related fields is preferred
  • Previous experience in animal welfare services or non-profit organizations is an advantage
  • Willingness to work on-site in Gurgaon
