Job Purpose
Intercontinental Exchange has an opportunity for a Full-Time Accounts Payable Manager. This role will oversee Accounts Payable operations for multiple regions and entities, ensuring consistent processes, and adherence to global standards.
Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day multiregion accounts payable activities, including vendor maintenance, invoice and payment processing, T&E audit reviews, U.S. 1099 issuance, escheatment reporting, and regional month-end close activities, ensuring all regions meet timelines and follow global policies set by senior management.
- Analyzes and reviews AP activities across regions to ensure operational consistency and that all processes and controls meet SOX compliance, internal/external audit standards, and both U.S. and international tax requirements.
- Oversees and administers the resolution of escalated, crossregional invoicing and payment issues, responding to global internal and external inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Manages AP team by allocating responsibilities effectively, providing timely and constructive performance feedback, and ensuring regional service level agreements are met.
- Leverages reports, dashboards, and analytics to monitor regional team performance and productivity, identify process gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance global efficiency.
- Acts as a liaison between the company, regional and global auditors, tax teams, accountants, and business stakeholders, ensuring information needs are met and historical records are properly maintained across all supported regions.
- Participates in project-based initiatives including acquisitions, system migrations, process standardization, and improvement activities that impact multiple regions or entities.
- Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates AP personnel to enhance performance, ensure staff development, and maintain high-quality work outputs.
Knowledge And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a business-related field.
- 12+ years of AP management experience, ideally within a large, multi-national company and a highvolume shared services environment supporting multiple regions.
- Experience with major ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or PeopleSoft.
- Prior experience with 1099 processing and escheatment reporting is highly desirable.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills; results-oriented with proven management capabilities.
- Ability to assess, analyze, and solve multiregion operational issues while prioritizing tasks within a fluid and fast-paced global environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with regional AP teams, external suppliers, internal customers, and global senior management.
- Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced multiregion environments, with flexibility and adaptability to support varied business needs across different time zones.
- Prior experience managing a team of 10+ individuals is strongly preferred
