Role Overview
We are seeking a Legal Associate with 35 years of experience to support the legal function in managing commercial contracts, maintaining compliance standards, and enabling business teams through structured legal guidance. This role will work closely with senior legal stakeholders to ensure contracts and processes align with organizational risk frameworks and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing, drafting, and redlining client and vendor agreements under supervision, ensuring alignment with internal templates and policies.
- Identify basic contractual risks and escalate complex issues to senior legal team members with preliminary analysis.
- Support compliance checks relating to confidentiality, data protection, intellectual property, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather information required for contract reviews.
- Maintain contract trackers, repositories, renewal calendars, and obligation logs to ensure operational compliance.
- Conduct initial legal research and assist with due diligence activities for vendors, partners, and clients.
- Participate in internal awareness sessions and support preparation of legal training materials.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is mandatory; LLM or specialization in Corporate/Commercial Law is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm or corp legal team.
- Exposure to reviewing NDAs, MSAs, vendor agreements, or basic commercial contracts is preferred.
- Foundational knowledge of commercial law, contract lifecycle management, intellectual property, and confidentiality obligations.
- Strong attention to detail, drafting skills, and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
