Job Title: Legal Manager

Industry: Real Estate

Location: Goregaon West, Mumbai

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Legal Manager to join a dynamic team in the Real Estate and Redevelopment sector. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in non-litigation matters, including legal drafting, vetting, property due diligence, legal advisory, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, vet, and analyze a wide range of legal documents such as:
  • Agreements, Deeds, Notices, Wills, Service Provider Agreements, Complaints, Replies.
  • Documentation related to MHADA, SRA, BMC, and other redevelopment authorities.
  • Power of Attorney (POA), Petitions, Written Statements, Conveyance Deeds, Public Notices.
  • Development Agreements, MoUs, Rectification Deeds.
  • Leave & License Agreements, Lease Deeds, Gift Deeds, Release Deeds, etc.
  • Provide legal advice to internal departments on operational and redevelopment matters.
  • Review contracts and agreements for legal compliance and risk factors.
  • Conduct independent property/society due diligence.
  • Keep management updated on relevant legal amendments, rules, and judgments.
  • Manage company legal matters, both filed by and against the organization.
  • Oversee MahaRERA registrations and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents for land purchases, development agreements, and joint ventures.
  • Liaise with external advocates and legal consultants.
  • Maintain Legal MIS reports.
  • Lead and manage a team of 56 junior legal professionals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • LLB (3 or 5-year degree) from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in the real estate industry.
  • Strong knowledge of property laws, redevelopment compliances, and construction-related legal matters.
  • Proficiency in commercial drafting and negotiation.
  • Familiarity with applications such as DRC and other project-related legal procedures.
  • Understanding of court procedures and dispute resolution.
  • Experience in title due diligence and legal risk assessment.
  • Skilled in legal research and precedent analysis.
  • Fluency in English and Marathi (written and spoken).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Working Days: Monday to Saturday (1st Saturday off)
  • Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
