We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Manager to join our client's team through Acme Services. This pivotal role is responsible for managing all legal proceedings across various domains throughout India, on behalf of the company. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in drafting and vetting legal documents, managing consultant contracts, liaising with government offices, and effectively coordinating with legal counsel.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation Management: Initiate and defend diverse legal proceedings on behalf of the Company all over India. This includes cases spanning Civil, Criminal, Consumer, Arbitration, Intellectual Property Rights, The Legal Metrology Act Rules, Industrial Dispute Act, Drug Cosmetic Act Rules, and other related incidental work as directed by management.
- Court Case Handling: Manage day-to-day court cases, ensuring timely responses and effective representation.
- Document Drafting & Vetting: Oversee the 1st drafting and vetting of all legal documents such as MOA (Memorandum of Association), MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), Bank guarantees, Indemnity Bonds, Undertakings, Authority Letters, and Vendor Agreements.
- Panel Lawyer Coordination: Coordinate with the panel of lawyers to ensure all legal documents are legally sound and aligned with company objectives.
- Consultant Contract Management: Take responsibility for the management of all Consultant Contracts, ensuring compliance and proper execution.
- Government Liaison: Handle liaisoning correspondence with Government Offices, fostering effective communication and compliance.
- Advocate Coordination & Fee Negotiation: Conduct coordination and briefing/discussions with lawyers for legal cases, and actively negotiate the fees structure of the Advocates to ensure cost-effective legal services.
Skills
- Proven experience in initiating and defending diverse legal proceedings (Civil, Criminal, Consumer, Arbitration, IPR, Legal Metrology, Industrial Dispute, Drug Cosmetic Act, etc.).
- Expertise in handling day-to-day court cases.
- Strong capabilities in drafting and vetting legal documents (MOA, MOU, Bank Guarantees, Indemnity Bonds, Undertakings, Authority Letters, Vendor Agreements).
- Experience in coordinating with panel lawyers for legal soundness.
- Proficiency in management of all Consultant Contracts.
- Adept at liaisoning correspondence with Government Offices.
- Excellent skills in coordination and briefing/discussion with lawyers and negotiating advocate fees.
Qualifications
- A law degree (LLB or equivalent) is required.
- Proven experience in a legal role, preferably within a corporate environment with pan-India exposure.
- Strong understanding of various legal acts and regulations relevant to the business.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
