Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly driven and experienced legal professional to join our New Energy Legal Team as Manager Contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law, compliance, and renewable energy sector litigation, with the ability to manage and mitigate legal risks in a fast-paced and evolving industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
- EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Contracts
- O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Contracts
- Financing Agreements
- Land Aggregation MOUs
- Consultancy/Service Agreements
- NDAs, Sale Deeds, Lease Deeds, and other related agreements
Legal Advisory & Risk Assessment:
- Provide legal opinions and risk analysis on tender documents, RFPs/RFQs.
- Advise business units on corporate matters, regulatory issues, insurance, procurement, and sustainability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to standardize and update legal templates and documents.
Compliance:
- Ensure that business operations comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Electricity Act and sectoral guidelines.
- Implement and monitor compliance policies at group, SPV, and project levels.
- Track and report compliance breaches, incidents, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) policy violations.
Litigation:
- Handle regulatory and legal matters related to the renewable sector.
- Represent or support in proceedings before SERCs, APTEL, and High Courts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Law from a Tier 1 law school (e.g., NLSIU, NUJS, NALSAR, GNLU, UPES, etc.)
- Experience: 58 years of experience in the renewable energy sector or related fields such as:
- Solar module manufacturers
- Wind turbine companies (e.g., Vestas, Suzlon, etc.)
- Thermal power companies (with renewable transition projects)
- Strong knowledge of Electricity Act, 2003 and renewable energy regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in compliance frameworks and policy implementation.
