Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly driven and experienced legal professional to join our New Energy Legal Team as Manager Contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract law, compliance, and renewable energy sector litigation, with the ability to manage and mitigate legal risks in a fast-paced and evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
  • EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Contracts
  • O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Contracts
  • Financing Agreements
  • Land Aggregation MOUs
  • Consultancy/Service Agreements
  • NDAs, Sale Deeds, Lease Deeds, and other related agreements

Legal Advisory & Risk Assessment:

  • Provide legal opinions and risk analysis on tender documents, RFPs/RFQs.
  • Advise business units on corporate matters, regulatory issues, insurance, procurement, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to standardize and update legal templates and documents.

Compliance:

  • Ensure that business operations comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Electricity Act and sectoral guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor compliance policies at group, SPV, and project levels.
  • Track and report compliance breaches, incidents, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) policy violations.

Litigation:

  • Handle regulatory and legal matters related to the renewable sector.
  • Represent or support in proceedings before SERCs, APTEL, and High Courts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Graduate/Postgraduate in Law from a Tier 1 law school (e.g., NLSIU, NUJS, NALSAR, GNLU, UPES, etc.)
  • Experience: 58 years of experience in the renewable energy sector or related fields such as:
  • Solar module manufacturers
  • Wind turbine companies (e.g., Vestas, Suzlon, etc.)
  • Thermal power companies (with renewable transition projects)
  • Strong knowledge of Electricity Act, 2003 and renewable energy regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in compliance frameworks and policy implementation.

Skills Required:

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and team player mindset.
  • Sound understanding of commercial and technical nuances of the renewable energy sector.
