Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Regional Legal Counsel to support our India operations with a particular focus in the manufacturing industry.

The scope includes providing corporate, commercial, compliance, and transactional legal support across the group. The successful candidate will operate as a corporate generalist with broad regional exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. General Legal Advisory: Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal advice across all business units.
  2. Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on international commercial agreements, including NDAs, supply of goods & services agreements, procurement contracts (materials, equipment, IT services), lease agreements, letters of intent, term sheets
  3. Corporate & Transactions: Support corporate governance matters and cross-border strategic transactions. Assist in M&A, joint ventures, investments, and related due diligence, negotiations, regulatory clearances, and post-completion matter.
  4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across business operations and contracts. Engage with internal stakeholders to align on commercial and operational risk positions.
  5. Compliance: Provide guidance on Group policies and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  6. Training: Develop and deliver legal training programs to business teams.
  7. External Counsel Management: Engage and manage external counsel as approved by the General Counsel.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Qualified lawyer eligible to practice law in India.
  • 510 years of corporate/commercial legal experience with a mix of lawfirm training and inhouse exposure.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry is an advantage
  • Strong command of Legal English.
  • High ethical standards and proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to advise non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and negotiation capabilities.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours to coordinate with global teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Occasional international travel may be required.
