Role Overview:
Extramarks is seeking a high-potential professional with strong B2B sales experience who aspires to transition into a Learning & Development leadership role. The position follows a structured career progression model where the selected candidate will initially work in a core sales role for the first 6 months. Based on consistent performance and capability demonstration, the individual will be converted into a Learning & Development Manager responsible for leading the L&D function of a designated Business Unit (BU).
Phase 1: Sales Immersion & Performance Validation (First 6 Months)
- Handle hardcore B2B sales responsibilities aligned with assigned targets
- Drive revenue generation, client acquisition, and relationship management
- Demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Gain in-depth understanding of Extramarks products, sales processes, and market dynamics
- Be continuously evaluated on sales performance, learning agility, leadership traits, and process adherence
Conversion Criteria:
Successful completion of the first 6 months with consistent performance against targets will lead to formal conversion into the Learning & Development Manager role.
Phase 2: Learning & Development Manager Role (Post Conversion)
L&D Leadership Responsibilities:
- Lead the Learning & Development function for the assigned Business Unit
- Design, deliver, and reinforce sales training programs focused on product knowledge, selling skills, and behavioral competencies
- Act as a sales performance coach and capability builder
- Partner with BU Heads and Sales Leadership to identify skill gaps and improve productivity
New Joinee Ownership & Performance Accountability:
- Take ownership of new sales joiners after completion of their initial training at Head Office, Noida
- Be responsible for sales performance, target achievement, revenue generation, and collections for the first 3 months
- Earn incentives equal to the mapped new joiners based on their performance
Post 3-Month Transition:
- After completion of the 3-month period, new joiners will be transferred to designated BU Managers
- A new batch of fresh joiners will be assigned for performance ownership
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Proven B2B sales experience
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Strong understanding of sales metrics and performance drivers
- Coaching mindset with leadership orientation
- High learning agility and aspiration to build a career in L&D
Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline
- 4–8 years of relevant B2B sales experience
- Willingness to work in a performance-driven transition model
