You will hire software engineers, data teams and product managers who shape our core systems and user experience. This role needs someone who understands how good talent thinks and what good teams need.

Ideal Candidate

We are hiring a Talent Acquisition Lead to own end-to-end hiring across engineering/R&D, GTM, operations, and corporate functions as we scale from 150 to 300+ people over the next 18 months. This is not a coordinator role. You will own strategy, process, pipeline, and outcomes and build a small team of recruiters under you as volume grows.

What You'll Own

  • Full-cycle hiring: Lead sourcing, assessment, and closing for 40-60 hires per year across spacecraft engineering, optics, RF/comms, GNC, embedded/firmware, software, ML, product, BD/GTM, finance, and ops.
  • Pipeline strategy: Build sourcing playbooks for scarce deep-tech talent — ex-ISRO/DRDO, aerospace PSUs, global space-tech, defence-adjacent engineering, and top-tier product companies.
  • Hiring manager enablement: Train and coach hiring managers on structured interviewing, scorecards, calibration, and de-biasing. Raise the bar on decision quality, not just speed.
  • Process & tooling: Own the ATS, reporting, and metrics. Build dashboards the leadership team actually uses — time-to-fill, pass-through rates, channel effectiveness, offer acceptance, quality-of-hire.
  • Employer brand: Partner with marketing/comms to build Digantara's external hiring story. Own careers page, LinkedIn presence, campus strategy, and community engagement (space-tech meetups, IIT/IIST/BITS outreach).
  • Team building: Hire and mentor 2-4 recruiters and sourcers as volume grows. Set team OKRs and rituals.
  • Offer & negotiation: Own the offer stage end-to-end — benchmarking, ESOP conversations, closing calls. Partner with Finance and the Head of People on compensation philosophy.

What We're Looking For

Must-haves

  • 8-10 years in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years leading engineering/deep-tech hiring at a product or engineering-first company (startup, scale-up, or a strong product org within a larger company).
  • Proven track record closing senior engineering talent not just volume hiring. You can point to specific hires whose profiles would impress a technical founder.
  • Comfort with structured hiring: scorecards, calibrated interviews, evidence-based decisions, and written debriefs.
  • Strong sourcing capability LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean, GitHub, academic sourcing, referrals, and active community building. You still source, even if you lead a team.
  • Experience with ATS platform and basic analytics (funnel conversion, time-to-fill, source quality).

Strong pluses

  • Prior hiring experience in space-tech, aerospace, defence, robotics, semiconductors, or any hardware/deep-tech domain.
  • Campus and early-career program experience (IIT/IIST/NIT/BITS ecosystem).
  • Experience building a TA function from scratch - JDs, scorecards, interview loops, vendor contracts, ATS implementation.
