About the Role
The Senior Consultant is the person who turns a fuzzy business problem into a scoped, sold, demoable solution. You will run discovery workshops with client finance, HR, and operations teams, translate what you hear into target-state workflows, build and run live demos of our products (TimeCraft, Fingertips, reconciliation, document tampering detection, close management), scope POCs, write proposals, and partner with the engineering team to turn all of that into something buildable. You should be equally comfortable talking to a Controller about the close calendar and talking to an engineer about a Kissflow schema.
Key Responsibilities
- Run client discovery — interviews, process walkthroughs, AS-IS mapping, pain point analysis, and target-state design.
- Author solution blueprints, scope of work, commercial proposals, and capability documents to Pierian brand standard (our decks actually look good).
- Build and deliver live product demos tailored to each customer — including configuring demo data that is believable for their domain.
- Own POC execution — scope, set up, run, and close out a 2–4 week POC with real outcomes that can be presented to a buyer.
- Translate discovery into buildable specs for the engineering team — user stories, data requirements, workflow diagrams, acceptance criteria.
- Partner with the Engagement Lead on pre-sales — CRM hygiene, pipeline follow-ups, demo scheduling, and proposal turnaround.
- Represent the customer perspective in internal reviews — keep us honest about what customers actually want vs. what we like building.
- Build reusable discovery templates, demo scripts, and pitch collateral.
- Write concise internal briefs after every customer conversation — what they said, what they need, what we're going to do.
Must-Have Requirements
- 7–9 years of experience across consulting, solutioning, pre-sales, or functional/business analysis for enterprise software or services.
- Demonstrated ability to run a client discovery workshop end-to-end — agenda, facilitation, synthesis, and follow-through.
- Strong functional understanding of at least one of: finance & accounting (AP, AR, close, recon, FP&A), HR operations, or supply chain.
- Comfortable with technology — can configure a low-code workflow, write a SQL query, read JSON, and understand an API payload. You will never be asked to write production code, but you must be technically credible.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication — proposals, client emails, demo narratives, and workshop summaries should need minimal editing.
- Daily usage of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) for drafting, analysis, research, and slide building.
- Meticulous planning and follow-through — no customer commitment falls through a crack; every conversation has a written follow-up within 24 hours.
- Strong slide craft — can build a customer-ready deck in Pierian brand style without needing a designer.
Good to Have
- Prior experience in F&A BPM / shared services outsourcing — you know what a close calendar looks like, and why reconciliations matter.
- Experience with Kissflow, Zoho, Power Automate, Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, or similar enterprise platforms.
- CA / CPA / MBA / PMP — useful but not required if the experience is strong.
- Experience responding to RFPs, including writing commercial and technical sections.
- Has run POCs that converted into multi-year engagements.
