What will you be responsible for

As a Lead Android Developer, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Android applications while ensuring ongoing support and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan projects across platforms, frameworks, and technologies.
  • Integrate applications with backend systems, troubleshoot and resolve code errors, and optimize performance.
  • Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance app functionality and user experience.
  • Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in Android development.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.
  • Ensure application security, performance, and adherence to development standards.

Who are we looking for

We are seeking a highly experienced Android developer with 10+ years of professional experience, including extensive experience in leading teams and building complex mobile applications. You should have:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality Android applications, following best practices and coding standards.
  • Understand the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and transitioned to production smoothly.
  • Create detailed design specifications, test plans, and documentation for all development projects.
  • Troubleshoot and debug application issues, providing timely solutions.
  • Lead team meetings, coaching sessions, and discussions, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor junior developers and support their growth by helping remove blockers and facilitating problem-solving.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including vendors and healthcare experts.
  • Advocate for the best product outcomes and balance technical requirements with stakeholder expectations.

Technical Requirements:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in Android development, including Kotlin and Java.
  • Expert proficiency with Android SDK, Android Jetpack components, and architectural patterns (MVVM, MVP, etc.).
  • Extensive experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and integration with backend services.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX design principles and ability to implement high-quality interfaces.
  • Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging Android applications.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and leading code reviews.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
  • Experience with Android Studio, Gradle, and other development tools.
  • Knowledge of database management (SQLite, Room) and offline-first app strategies.
  • Comfortable with cloud platforms (Firebase, AWS, or Azure) and push notifications.
  • Commitment to secure coding practices and application performance standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
  • Passion for mentoring, learning new technologies, and sharing knowledge within the team.
