Lead IaC Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Develop and manage configuration management tools primarily with Chef.
• Build, manage, and version infrastructure using Terraform.
• Automation & Scripting:
• Write and maintain automation scripts in Python to streamline infrastructure tasks.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
• Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps teams to ensure highly available, secure, and scalable systems.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
• Monitor infrastructure performance and provide optimization recommendations.
• Security & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with best practices for security, governance, and automation.
• CI/CD Pipelines:
• Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with infrastructure integration.
• Incident Management:
• Support incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for infrastructure issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience in:
• Chef (Cookbooks, Recipes, Automation)
• Python (Scripting, automation tasks, REST APIs)
• Terraform (Modules, state management, deployments)
• Familiarity with Windows administration and automation.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD processes, infrastructure lifecycle, and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience with AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in AWS, Terraform, or DevOps tools.
• Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
