Job Title: Lead Engineer (Technology), VP

Role Description

As the Lead Engineer of the new Channel Fraud Monitoring Squad, you will be responsible for the development and end-to-end technical delivery of a mission-critical platform designed to protect the Corporate Bank's online channels from real-time fraud. You are expected to be a hands-on backend developer with deep architectural expertise to meet demanding performance, reliability, and security requirements, while also providing coaching and technical guidance to the development squad to enable their success.

Your key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Fraud Monitoring Squad, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and ownership.
• Lead by example through direct, hands-on development of the core services and critical components of the Fraud Monitoring Platform.
• Partner closely with the platform architect to define and drive the implementation of the solution design, ensuring the Fraud Monitoring Platform is scalable, resilient, and secure.
• Work closely with Engineering Heads, Project Management, and leaders of related platforms to build, integrate, and deliver the software.
• Drive continuous improvement in the team's performance across the entire SDLC, including code quality, automated testing (QA), CI/CD pipelines, and post-release operational activities.
• Act as the primary technical expert on the platform in strategy meetings, stakeholder discussions, and future product development opportunities.
• Partner with SRE and L3 support teams to proactively identify and implement architectural improvements that enhance system reliability and reduce operational toil.

Your skills and experience

• Proven, hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying complex, scalable applications on a major public cloud platform (GCP strongly preferred).
• Extensive hands-on backend programming experience, with expert-level proficiency in the modernJava ecosystem (Java 17+, Spring Boot).
• Overall experience of 15+ years in software engineering, with a proven track record of leading the design and delivery of complex, business-critical systems.
• Strong knowledge ofMicroservices Architecture, Kubernetes, Docker, and building cloud-native applications.
• Proficiency with event-driven architecture and messaging systems likeKafkaor MQ.
• Expertise with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and in-memory data stores/caches (Redis).
• Good understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), and DevOps/SRE principles.
• Experience engineering systems with high-load and high-traffic requirements, including performance testing, tuning, and ensuring zero-downtime releases.
• A strong understanding of modern security principles, including API security (mTLS, OAuth2), data protection, and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with the principles of AI/ML and an understanding of how to integrate and orchestrate machine learning models or AI agents within a real-time decisioning system is a strong plus.
