Position Summary:
The Lead Engineer - Project Management is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering projects within Emerson's FLMC Motion Control Strategic Business Unit. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality and governance standards while maintaining strong customer satisfaction. The position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, sound technical understanding, and effective project leadership throughout the project lifecycle. This role is based at the Emerson Innovation Center, Pune, and reports functionally to the Manager - Motion Control.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedules, resources, cost estimates, and risk management.
Lead project kickoff meetings and ensure clear alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
Track and manage project execution using Emerson project management frameworks, tools, and governance processes.
Ensure compliance with Emerson's quality, safety, and project execution standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Procurement, and Service teams.
Conduct regular project reviews, status updates, and customer presentations.
Manage project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Support vendor and subcontractor coordination in partnership with procurement teams.
Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
Lead root‑cause analysis for project issues and drive timely corrective actions.
Maintain project documentation, including risk registers, and ensure timely escalation when required.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and teamwork.

For This Role, You Will Need:
A degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with relevant project management exposure.
Experience leading end‑to‑end projects in industrial automation, manufacturing, engineering services, or similar environments.
Strong understanding of New Product Development (NPD) stage‑gate processes.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools such as MS Project, MS Office, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms.
Ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer‑handling skills.
Experience working in cross‑functional and global team environments.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, or equivalent certification.
Experience working in a global engineering or multinational environment.
