Lead Business Analyst

Job Summary/ Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst with strong P&C insurance/ Life Insurance domain expertise to lead business analysis initiatives, collaborate with global stakeholders, and drive successful delivery of reinsurance-focused solutions. The role requires deep understanding of reinsurance processes, strong analytical skills, and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a P&C insurance/ Life Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) across projects and initiatives.

Lead requirement gathering, analysis, documentation, and validation with business and technical stakeholders.

Define business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

Translate complex reinsurance business needs into clear, actionable requirements.

Lead workshops, process mapping sessions, and stakeholder discussions.

Collaborate with underwriting, claims, finance, actuarial, and IT teams.

Support reinsurance lifecycle including placements, treaties (Proportional and Non-Proportional), bordereaux, claims, and settlements.

Guide solution design and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Mentor and review work of junior business analysts.

Support UAT planning, execution, defect triage, and sign-off.

Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and data governance standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong expertise in Reinsurance domain including Treaty, Facultative, Retrocession.

Hands-on experience with reinsurance systems, data models, and reporting.

Excellent requirements elicitation and documentation skills (BRD, FRD, SRS, User Stories).

Strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance financials.

Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, IT, or related field.

10+ years of experience in business analysis with significant focus on P&C insurance/ Life Insurance.

Prior experience in a Lead or Senior Business Analyst role.

Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, ACII, or equivalent are a plus.

Preferred Experience

Experience working with global reinsurance clients and stakeholders.

Exposure to policy administration, claims management, and financial systems.

Experience with data migration, reporting, and regulatory initiatives.
