Laboratory Technician

Roles & Responsibilities

Collect, label, and prepare patient samples (blood, urine, stool, sputum, etc.) for testing.

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests as per standard procedures.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and analyzers.

Ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of test results.

Record, analyze, and interpret test data, then report findings to doctors/medical staff.

Follow quality control and safety standards in the laboratory.

Properly store, handle, and dispose of specimens and chemical reagents.

Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of work areas and instruments.

Keep up-to-date records of all laboratory activities and patient reports.

Assist in inventory managementchecking stock of reagents, kits, and other consumables.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information and reports.

Adhere strictly to infection control and biohazard safety protocols.
