About the Role
Hipcouch is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer to join our growing team. With 3+ years of experience, you aren't just starting outyou're ready to take ownership of technical execution while collaborating closely with our Senior Designers.
In this role, you will be the bridge between a creative concept and its physical reality. You will spend your days turning design visions into high-quality technical drawings and immersive SketchUp views, ensuring every detail is accounted for before construction begins.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drafting: Develop comprehensive GFC (Good For Construction) drawings, including electrical, plumbing, tiling, and furniture detailing using AutoCAD.
- 3D Modeling: Create accurate and aesthetically pleasing 3D models in SketchUp to help clients and the team visualize the final space.
- Design Support: Work under the direct guidance of a Senior Designer to assist in mood board creation, material selection, and site documentation.
- Site Coordination: Visit sites to ensure that the on-ground execution aligns with your technical drawings.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate in internal design reviews and coordinate with vendors/contractors to clarify drawing details.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a professional interior design or architecture firm.
- Software Proficiency: * Expert-level skills in AutoCAD (precise detailing is a must).
- Advanced knowledge of SketchUp
- Collaborative Spirit: A proactive team player who can take feedback from seniors and turn it into better design outcomes.
- Communication: Ability to explain technical drawings clearly to both the internal team and on-site contractors.
