Job Description: IT Support Intern
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated IT Support Intern to assist the IT team in providing technical support
and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure. The intern will gain hands-on experience in
desktop support, networking, system patching, and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level IT support for hardware, software, and basic network-related issues.
- Assist in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Perform system-to-system visits across the office to install updates, apply patches, and fix
technical issues.
- Support operating system updates, patch management, and antivirus checks on end-user
machines.
- Assist with basic networking support including LAN connectivity, Wi-Fi issues, and network
cable connections.
- Help configure network settings such as IP address, DNS, and gateway on user systems.
- Support basic troubleshooting of network devices such as switches, routers, and access points
under supervision.
- Assist in user account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
- Maintain IT asset inventory and documentation.
- Provide support for Microsoft Office / Office 365 related issues.
- Log and track support requests through the IT helpdesk or ticketing system.
- Assist the IT team during system upgrades, maintenance, and IT infrastructure projects.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Windows 10 / Windows 11 operating systems.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Office 365.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced IT support environment.
Work Requirements
- Interested in providing on-site IT support and visiting multiple systems/desktops for updates
and troubleshooting.
- Comfortable performing system patching and routine maintenance activities.
- Ready to work in rotational shifts if required.
- Flexible to work with rotational weekly offs as per operational requirements.
Education
Pursuing or recently completed Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer
Science, or a related field.
