We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with 2 years of experience in network troubleshooting and support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in L2 troubleshooting, basic firewall management, and network monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Perform Level 2 (L2) network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity and performance issues
- Configure and manage Layer 3 switches, including VLANs, routing, and basic network optimization
- Assist in bandwidth calculation and network capacity planning
- Monitor network performance using standard network monitoring tools
- Analyze network traffic and diagnose issues using Wireshark
- Support firewall configurations and basic troubleshooting for:
- Fortinet (FortiGate)
- Sophos
- Palo Alto Networks
- Work closely with L1 and L3 teams to escalate and resolve complex network issues
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, issues, and resolutions
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in network support or engineering roles
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Hands-on experience in L2 troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of firewall technologies (FortiGate, Sophos, Palo Alto)
- Experience configuring Layer 3 switches
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
- Proficiency in Wireshark for packet analysis
- Understanding of bandwidth management and calculations
- Good problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent
- Exposure to enterprise network environments
- Basic understanding of security concepts
